4X4/AWD prices to increase with bad weather forecast

Following the strong winds and rain of the last week, forecasts are now predicting a drop in temperatures as the UK truly heads into winter. This has prompted leading vehicle remarketing company, British Car Auctions (BCA), to remind motorists that 4x4 and AWD values are likely to rise as temperatures drop. Indeed , looking at the latest data supplied in the market place, 4x4 values are definatley moving up with October showing an increase of 7.3 % up on September.

"The onset of bad weather usually marks an increase in demand for four wheel drive vehicles and that generally pushes up average prices" explained the Editor of BCA Used Car Market Report. "And, despite the fact that temperatures were unseasonably warm in October we've already seen prices creeping up as demand increases."

Average values have increased by £948 compared to September and are £841 ahead of September last year - These are the figures stated so it's important that we keep a close marker on the used AWD market for our customers. We have been buying new stock for both dealerships to ensure that we protect our customers from market price rises but we can only do so much. We've got more new stock arriving every day at the right price so if you are in the market and looking to buy before the end of the year, we think it's a sooner rather than later decision unless you postpone until March/April 2014 when the prices should settle down again.

It's a fast moving market place and we are always trying to be one step in front to benefit your pockets and our sales so if you are thinking or deliberating over a purchase, then call us so we can advise and point you in the right decision.
